Rating System and Review Guidelines
I use the common 5-star rating system.
1 star - I didn't finish the book. These are rare. I really don't like giving out these.
2 stars - I finished the book but didn't connect with it for whatever reason. My review will tell you why I feel I didn't connect.
3 stars - I enjoyed the book, but probably won't read it again.
4 stars - I loved it and will probably read it again.
5 stars - I absolutely loved it and it's something I'm going to read over and over again (and gush about) for years to come. These are also rare.
Most of my reviews are 3 & 4 stars.
I do not give lower ratings for minor typos. I do not expect perfection from anyone. That being said, there is a difference between a few typos and several grammatical errors. If there is an error on almost every page, my review will mention it.
I don't accept unsolicited book submissions. However, if I have reviewed and enjoyed one of your books (3 stars and up) in the past, feel free to reach out to me on social media if you'd like me to review another book of yours. If I have time and it sounds interesting, I'll probably do it. Most of my reviews come from my library, Goodreads suggestions and the email arc newsletters I am a part of. I really like reading new and indie authors.
My Goodreads is the best place to see what I am currently reading and what books are upcoming. I will typically choose from my want to read list at random depending on my mood.
I don't publish on a set schedule. My reviews will usually be posted a day or two after I finish a book.
